The Environmental Leadership Program is an interactive, collaborative, service learning project based in the Environmental Studies department of the University of Oregon. Restoring Connections is a branch of the program that is focused on reconnecting children with nature and fostering lasting personal relationships with their local environment. The team is partnered with Adams Elementary School and Mount Pisgah Arboretum which enables them to create interdisciplinary, place based curriculums. The 2019 Resotring Connections Team, which Chloe was a member of, worked to create an education, fun, hands on 4th grade curriculum focused on the riparian and wetland habitats that are so important in Oregon. The team leads lessons in classrooms and out on the field every week and has reached over 450 students over the course of 9 weeks.
